5 Ways to Increase Your Blog Readers
A blog is a great way to peek visitors’ interest in your business. You may already have a following, but now you want to attract more readers. We’ve created a list of five ways to help increase your blog traffic.
1. Write Consistently On Relevant Topics
This may seem like a simple step, but writing on a regular basis will keep visitors aware of what to expect. Figure out the number of posts that you plan to write a week and then pick the days when you’ll post them. For example, you can produce two posts a week every Monday and Thursday. That way, visitors will return to your blog on those set days expecting new content. In order to attract readers that will stay engaged, your topics should have some connection to your business.
2. Use Images To Enhance Your Message
Just like a good blog design, images and graphics are a great way to add visual interest and create a whole new way for visitors to find your site through image searches. Images break up the content and make your posts more appealing. If you can take photos or produce graphics, then put those skills to use. Hiring a photographer or graphic designer is another option. Also, allow others to use the images you’ve created or hired someone to create, as long as they link back to your post, to generate even more traffic
3. Organize Your Content
Visitors want to find information quickly. Make this easier by organizing your blog posts into categories and setting up a tag system so that articles can be searched based on keywords or phrases. Another essential element to have is a search bar. This gives visitors a quick method to find exactly what they’re looking for. A sidebar or a section at the bottom of each page with similar articles will help guide visitors to another article after finishing one.
4. Respond To Comments
It’s a huge step for a reader to comment on one of your posts. Encourage their participation by responding to comments made on your blog in a timely manner. Respond by showing appreciation, answering a question or even engaging in further conversation. This proves to visitors that there is a real person behind this blog, and they will be more likely to ask questions because they know they will receive answers.
5. Share Your Posts on Social Media
The last step to gaining more traffic on your blog is sharing your articles on social media. This step will help you spread the word about the content you’re creating. On Facebook and Twitter, post a link with a brief description. Sites like Pinterest and Instagram can also be used. If you’ve got a great photo in one of your recent posts, pin it with a link to the article onto a board. It’s okay if you don’t have a huge following on your social media sites because those already interested in your blog will share your posts to their friends and followers, widening your reach.
To attract more readers, it’s all about the time and effort you put into your blog. Write consistently, engage readers, and create some visual appeal to bring in more traffic.
